Bossier Parish Police Jury Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Unit Permitting System

The CVEU Office Hours and Permitting Hours are Monday - Friday from 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, excluding holidays. Permits will only be processed during this time period.
The Bossier Parish Police Jury Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Unit was created in 2009. Its primary duty is the regulation of commercial motor vehicle traffic upon the parish roadway system. This encompasses size and weight, as well as any other public safety issues pertaining to the trucking industry. Field personnel are POST certified and carry a commission through the Bossier Sheriff’s Office.
- A separate permit must be obtained for each individual truck, envelope vehicle, commodity, single trip, and route.
- Any permits with weights over 152,000 lbs gross permitted weight must notify the specified CVEU officer 2 hours prior to movement. Failure to do so voids the permit totally; and the permitted weights shall be used to asses weight penalty.
- No permitted movements can be started without first making application and notifying the CVEU section first.
